An automatic pet feeder serves meals at set times, even when you are out or asleep. The right one depends on whether you feed dry or wet food, whether you want to control it from a phone, how much food it needs to hold and how many pets it must serve. This guide compares the ROJECO feeders on those points.
Quick picks
- Wet food: the F19 6-meal and F26 4-meal cat feeders keep food cool with ice packs and run on AA batteries.
- Dry food from your phone: the 2L smart feeder, 4L smart feeder and 4.5L WiFi feeder use a WiFi app.
- Stainless steel tank: the 4.5L stainless steel feeder plans 1 to 10 meals a day.
- See your cat: the 3L feeder with camera adds a 720P camera and two-way voice.
- No app: the 2L button feeder is set with buttons and an LCD screen.

1. Dry food or wet food
Most feeders here are hopper feeders for dry kibble. For wet food, the F19 and F26 have separate compartments with two ice packs, so food is kept cold until mealtime. The manufacturer lists how long the ice packs hold their temperature on each product page. Read Wet Food in an Automatic Feeder: How to Keep It Fresh before you buy.
2. WiFi app or buttons
A WiFi feeder lets you set meals, change portions and check feeding records from your phone. The 2L smart feeder and the 2-in-1 list 2.4GHz WiFi, and the 4L lists 2.4GHz WiFi with Bluetooth, so check your router. Several models come in both a WiFi version and a button version, so make sure the option you want is selected before you order. If you would rather set meals on the unit, choose the 2L button feeder. Read WiFi Pet Feeders: Are They Worth It? for the trade-offs.
3. Tank size and kibble size
Check both the capacity and the kibble size each feeder lists. The 4L holds about 2kg of dry food, and the 3L camera feeder stores 2.5kg. Kibble ranges are 2 to 15mm on the 2L smart feeder, 4 to 18mm on the 4L, 5 to 12mm on the 4.5L stainless steel and 3 to 13mm on the camera feeder.
4. One pet or more
The 4L smart feeder and the 4.5L WiFi feeder come with a single or double bowl option. None of these feeders is listed as recognising individual pets, so read WiFi Feeders for Two Cats: What They Can and Can't Do and How to Choose an Automatic Feeder for Multiple Pets.
5. Camera and voice
The 3L feeder with camera has a 720P camera with a 115° wide view and two-way voice, and the 4.5L stainless steel feeder plays a voice message of up to 10 seconds. See Cat Feeder With Camera: Is It Worth It?.
6. Power cuts
Plug-in models also accept batteries, so feeding can carry on through a power cut. The F19 and F26 are cord-free and run on AA batteries only. Batteries are not included with any of these feeders.
Food and water together
The 2-in-1 feeder and fountain pairs a 5L food tank with a 3.5L gravity-fed water fountain and handles 2 to 20mm food. It comes as a WiFi version with up to 6 meals a day via the app, or as a button version. Spare bowls and a raised stand are in our accessories collection.
