The ROJECO Smart Bouncing Cat Ball moves on its own, bouncing and rolling to trigger your cat's chasing instincts. A built-in obstacle sensor helps it change direction when it hits something, a rechargeable battery means no spare batteries to buy, and a soft silicone shell is gentle on furniture. It comes in orange or green.

The manufacturer's icon strip lists three modes, USB charging, 360° rolling and intelligent obstacle avoidance.

The manufacturer's comparison chart sets the new version against the old version. The new version adds a bouncing mode on top of self-moving rolling, jumps 1 to 5cm, uses a 3.7V 180mAh battery (old: 80mAh), a 16000 r/min motor (old: 8000 r/min), charges in 1 hour (old: 1.5 to 2 hours) and works for 2 to 4 hours (old: 1.5 hours).

The ball moves, shakes or bounces automatically, and you switch modes to suit different cat games: passive mode for jumping only, gentle mode for moving only, and move-and-jump mode for both.

A built-in automatic obstacle-avoidance sensor makes the ball change direction when it hits objects such as table legs or a mug, so it keeps playing instead of sitting stuck in a corner.

The ball rolls irregularly, so cats do not tire of chasing it. The picture shows a cat chasing it across a rug.

Three panels cover the ball's party tricks: a high bounce of 1 to 5cm to attract cats (with a 5cm marker), a cool LED light so cats can play in the dark, and a removable, washable silicone shell, shown being rinsed in water.

The manufacturer states the high-quality silicone is non-toxic and will not break even when it hits the wall hundreds of times.

Press and hold the ON/OFF button for 3 seconds until the LED turns on or off.

Long press for 3 seconds to turn the ball on and the green light comes on. A short press then cycles through the green and blue lights. Stay on a colour for 3 seconds and the light flashes twice to confirm the mode. During bouncing, a short press switches modes.

After it has worked twice, the toy enters standby with the green light on, and a touch wakes it again. Its petite size will not scare your pets and gives your cat a fun way to get more exercise.

The manufacturer's charging guide has three steps: open the silicone cover, insert the Type-C charging cable, then check the indicator. A red light means the battery is low and needs charging, and a steady green light means charging is complete. Fully charge the ball before first use.

The parameter chart shows an orange ball and a green one with the 42mm diameter marked.
