The ROJECO Wireless Pump Cat Water Fountain (model RYSJ-13) is built for homes with more than one cat. It has two separate drinking bowls, a 2.5L tank and a wireless pump design with no wires in the water, which the manufacturer says is safer and more convenient to use. It also has a water shortage detector and a transparent tank that shows the water level at a glance.

Key features

  • 2.5L (84oz) capacity: one fill gives roughly a week of water for two cats.
  • Dual drinking bowls: each pet gets its own space, which helps reduce mealtime rivalry. The manufacturer says families with two pets often see them fight over one bowl.
  • Dual-filter system: separate filters for the two water bowls.
  • 4-layer filtration: high-density filters, ion exchange resin and coconut shell activated charcoal remove hair, dust, odour and chlorine, with a replaceable filter included.
  • Wireless pump: the manufacturer's picture says there are no wires in the water, so it is safer and more convenient to use.
  • Water shortage detector: the pump switches off automatically as soon as the water level dips below the minimum line.
  • Quiet operation: a 5V low-pressure pump brings the noise down to 30dB, quieter than the 50dB of indoor talk on the manufacturer's chart.
  • Transparent water tank: check the remaining water level at a glance through the MAX and MIN window.
  • Easy to clean: a detachable design with nothing pointy, simple to take apart and wash.
  • 24/7 running water: the manufacturer says pets love fresh running water more than a traditional water tray.

Designed for two pets

The dual-pet fountain keeps natural, spring-like fresh water running. The picture shows a Bengal cat and a cream cat drinking side by side from the two spouts.

Double-bowl design

According to the manufacturer's investigation, families with two pets often have pets fighting over a single drinking bowl. The double-bowl design gives each pet its own drinking spot, so there is less crowding.

Dual-filter system

There are separate filters for the two water bowls. The picture shows two half-moon filter pieces, one for each side of the fountain.

24/7 running water

Compared to traditional water storage trays, the manufacturer says pets love fresh running water more. The tank keeps water moving over the two spouts around the clock.

4-layer filtration

Three kinds of high-quality material are stacked in four layers to remove impurities such as hair and debris from the water:

  • High-density filter (top layer): filters hair and dust.
  • Ion exchange resin: removes heavy metals, according to the manufacturer.
  • Coconut shell activated charcoal: removes odour and residual chlorine.
  • High-density filter (bottom layer): filters hair and dust.

2.5L (84oz) large capacity

One refill of the water tank can satisfy about a week of water intake for 2 cats.

Ultra quiet

The 5V low-pressure pump brings the operating noise down to 30dB. The manufacturer's chart marks 30dB for the ROJECO water fountain and 50dB for indoor talk, and the picture shows the fountain running beside a cat on a bed.

No redundant, exposed wires

The manufacturer says the wireless pump is safer and more convenient to use, with no wires in the water. The pump itself is powered by a cable, but that cable does not put any wire in the water.

Easy to clean

The fountain has a detachable design and nothing pointy. The pictures show the drinking tray being rinsed under a tap and the parts beside a sink.

How to clean the pump

The manufacturer's diagram gives three steps. The foam filter affects the water yield very much, so clean it frequently and replace it in time when cleaning the pump.

  1. Remove the foam filter, pump cover and impeller cover in sequence.
  2. Remove the impeller with the hook end of a cleaning brush, as the diagram shows.
  3. Use a brush to clean the parts with water.

A brush can also be used to clean the spout, and the manufacturer recommends cleaning the spout about once a week.

Frequently asked questions

Why choose a wireless pump?

The manufacturer says a wireless pump is safer and more convenient to use because there are no wires in the water, and the parts are quick to rinse. The pump itself is powered by a cable, but that cable does not put any wire in the water.

Is it good for two cats?

Yes. The two bowls give each cat its own drinking spot, and the 2.5L tank covers about a week for two cats.

What happens if the water runs low?

The pump switches off automatically as soon as the water level dips below the minimum line. Refill before it gets that low, using the MAX and MIN window as a guide.

How often should I clean the pump and spout?

The manufacturer recommends cleaning the spout about once a week, and cleaning the foam filter frequently. The diagram above shows how to take the pump apart.

How loud is it?

The 5V low-pressure pump brings the noise down to 30dB on the manufacturer's chart, compared with 50dB for indoor talk.

How often should I change the filter?

Every 2 to 4 weeks. Soak the new filter before fitting it.

How big is it?

The manufacturer's drawing gives 25cm long, 16cm wide and 11cm high, with a 2.5L tank.
